Last night Matt, being the awesome husband he is, took me to see my favorite band in concert! The Rocket Summer is actually a one man band, playing all the instruments himself for the album, but hiring a band for the shows. His name is Bryce Avary, and is the most talented musician I've ever seen, and a bonus, he's from Grapevine, TX. :)
When I saw that he was having a CD release party in Dallas, I asked Matt if we could go, and after much thought he said yes! One of the opening acts was Matt Thiessen of Relient K. Another one of our favorite bands! Cool thing about Matt Thiessen is that he pretty much brought Matt and I together through his music. We love that guy!
As we were leaving the show, headed to our car, we saw Matt! *insert teeny bopper moment* He was already bombarded by fans, but we patiently waited. We wanted to tell him our story, but all we got was a picture of me with him. I wish Matt could have gotten a picture with him. :(
Here's how it turned out.. I look so bad, standing in rain and in a humid room for 4 hours results in this:
Notice the under 21 'X' on my hand? Yeah, brilliant me forgot to bring my wallet with me which had my ID inside. I don't drink, but having huge X's on my hand to scrub off later wasn't fun lol.
The show was awesome, Matt wins the husband of the century award for taking me, and we have decided that this was our last bar setting concert we will go to. Sad day, but our feet, back, and ears can't handle it anymore. We're old.
