Movin' on up!

...to the third floor! Matt and I are all moved into our new apartment in Irving! We are really enjoying it, and it already feels like home. Jade, on the other hand, had a rough time with the change. For the first hour or so in the new place, she stayed hidden under the bed. This is very much not like her to do. After hiding out, she would slowly crawl out from under the bed and inch her way into the bathroom, then run back under the bed. Then she would try it again, and again, until she eventually made her way to the living room! This was a huge step! We finally had our little Jade back.

The move could not have gone any smoother! The movers arrived at 8:30, we were on the road at 9:40, and we were all moved in at 11:30! Pretty sad it took us a week to pack it all up, and a day to move and unpack it all. Well it's mostly all unpacked, just the kitchen left!

It was sad leaving the old apartment, our first "home." When everything was out, and the only things left to look at were all the water bottle caps and wadded up pieces of paper that Jade had pushed under the couch and bed, I just stood in the middle of the living room thinking of all the memories we had in this apartment.

• the days before we were married, and I was scared out of my mind to be living alone, and I would just curl up on the couch till it was time to go to bed.

• waffle night with my mom, while watching American Idol.

• coming home from our honeymoon and seeing mountains of gifts from our wedding.

• writing 'Thank You' notes with Matt for all of those wedding gifts.

• bringing our little pint size kitten, Jade, into her first home.

• and watching her chew every fake plant we own.

• the time Matt and I had our cooking disaster and ended up drinking Jamba Juice on our couch, cuddled up watching Seven Pounds.

These are just a few of the memories that I will never forget from our first apartment.

Now to be non-sappy, we LOVE LOVE LOVE our new apartment! We love that we have a second bedroom, we love the vaulted ceiling in the living room, and we love all the windows!!! I'm holding off on taking pictures till everything is completely done, but here is a sneak peak :)
