Labor Day Weekend

This year for Labor Day we went to Houston to visit my parents. It was a great, and much needed, get-a-way. Our first outing on the trip was to Bryan, TX for lunch and to see my Aunt and Uncle's new home, which is still being built. It is a gorgeous home and I can't wait to see it when it's finished! We will be having our annual Family Christmas party at their new house this year, and baby Kaley will be there for her first time!

For lunch that day, we ate in downtown Bryan at a place called Madden's. It was a little cafe with an awesome vintage, unique store attached. I could have gone broke in that store, with so many cute decorating ideas and furniture! My favorite thing in the store was this bed. It is exactly what I want! Too bad we would have to take a loan out to get it.

The second "outing" I guess you could say was going to Houston's First Baptist Church, where my parents attend. Matt was asked to be the guest speaker for my parents Sunday School class, and he did a great job teaching a survey of the Bible. He always impresses me! The service that morning was awesome as well! Every time we visit that church I always say "I hope I see Beth Moore!" since that is the church she attends. Also, every time i'm there they announce that she is doing a 3 night Bible study starting the day after we leave! Bummer! Well this particular Sunday, the pastor asked Beth and her husband to come up on stage for everyone to pray for her and the upcoming Bible study. I had the "nuh uh!" look on my face. I looked to my left and to my surprise she and her husband were sitting in the crowd. I wanted so badly to find her and talk with her, but she was probably wanting to scoot on out to have lunch just like the rest of us! I was just happy to see her for those few minutes in person.

For the rest of the weekend we just chilled and relaxed. Watched some movies, and ate till our bellies couldn't take it anymore! Speaking of eating... my parents took us to a dessert place called "The Chocolate Bar" which had some of the best tasting chocolate i've ever had! In the picture I am holding a coconut walnut haystack. So rich. So good. So worth the calories.

Well, I hope everyone reading this had a great Labor Day weekend as well! :)

Happy Labor Day from the Morrisons!
