Well let's see, a LOT has happened since the last post.
My parents came to visit us on Feb. 26-27 to hear Matt preach on Sunday morning! This was his "view of a call" sermon. Technically for the last year he has been an intern or director for the college and young singles at our church. But after this sermon, the church voted on him to become the College and Young Singles Minister! This was a very exciting day for us! We love love LOVE our church and I am so glad Matt is officially on staff!
March 6 was an even more special day! Last Sunday night Matt became and ordained minister!! This was such an amazing, sweet night for Matt and I. We had his parents, his grandparents, my aunt and uncle, the pastor of the church Matt interned at during college (and his wife and kids) and close friends of ours all there to support us. Matt and I were prayed over by all the deacons, my father-in-law, my uncle and Matt's grandfather. This will be a night I will never forget. I haven't been more proud of Matt!
Matt got a second job. Believe it or not, in the middle of being voted in to be on staff, and being ordained, Matt was offered a second job. He is working part time at Artistry Marketing in Dallas. It is a really cool company that creates branding for churches and ministries. Matt will be helping out in a lot of different areas, but I think he will mainly be doing web design stuff. Things went from normal to C-R-A-Z-Y in a matter of one week. He is still going to seminary, and now has a full schedule between church and this new job. I know he is overwhelmed right now, but with the Lord's strength, he will be able to get through this next year and a half. Just 3 more semesters of seminary, and then he is DONE!
Those are the main updates! Exciting stuff!
