April Storms

Ever since Matt and I got married, nearly 2 years ago, we've always wanted to have a BIG storm to hit so we could cuddle up and watch the breaking news and all that jazz. Well 2 years later we finally got that storm! Actually we've had 2 pretty good storms in the past couple weeks, but the other one was during the night and we slept through most of it.

The storm last night was a pretty good one though! Except, we didn't have that "cuddle-and-be-cute-while-watching-the-news" moment. Nope. Instead I was loopy because I had taken benedryl an hour before because my eyes have been swollen and red for the last couple days. (yay Texas pollen...!)

Then about 10 minutes before the storm actually hit, Matt decides to go ahead and shower in case the power goes out. So I watch the storm get closer and closer outside our only West facing window. I thought to myself "dang. This would be cool if I could get a picture of this lightning." So I got my phone. Held my finger on the "shutter" button and waited for a big bolt to strike. I saw the flash of the lightning start and I let up on the button. BINGO! (I think I actually screamed a high pitch squeal) I had FINALLY taken a picture of lightning!! I've been trying for years with my DSLR...never thought my iPhone would do the trick. Oh, you want to see that picture? ;)
