Favorite Vacation Spot

Over at Kelly's Korner, she's hosting a new Show Us Your Life, and today's topic is all about favorite vacation spots! Now y'all know we love love LOVE the beach, so i'm going to tell you about the beach we go to about every other summer.


My parents have been taking us, as a family of 4, to Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina since I was in middle school I believe. We used to lived in Charlotte, NC so it was a quick 4 hour drive to the beach. We have now moved back to Texas and my sister and I both have gotten married, and she and her husband have started a family! This doesn't stop us from still going! Wrightsville Beach is on a small "island" outside of Wilmington, NC. I call it an "island" because, yes, it's technically an island, but it is super close to the mainland. So you don't have to get on a ferry to go to this place. You just cross a bridge and you're there!

*Fun little side note: Dawson's Creek and One Tree Hill were filmed in Wilmington and parts of Wrightsville Beach!

This was the whole gang last summer! Kaley, my niece, was only 3 months old! She will be a beach bum for sure!


Here's Matt and I before going out on our date. Every couple picks a night to go out so we're not spending every meal together, ha! It's a great plan, and we all really enjoy that!


And this is the restaurant we always go to! It's right on the beach and we just LOVE their hush puppies! My mouth is watering right now just thinking about them!

The beautiful beach! I love how it's a tiny little beach, not too many people know about it, so you can feel like you are on an island all by yourself at times!


So many pretty scenes on our nightly walks around the beach. Such a peaceful place! We can't wait to go back next summer!


I so hope you have a chance to visit Wrightsville Beach at some point in your lifetime! It is a great beach to take your family to and has TONS of photo ops!
