Thanksgiving 2009

What a wonderful first Thanksgiving as a Morrison!! We started the day off by watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, a favorite of mine :) it wasn't quite the same though without trash! Trash is a trail mix my dad always makes at Thanksgiving, I need to learn how to make it. It's pretty amazing! I did however make my mom's chocolate chess pie to bring over to my in-law's for thanksgiving lunch! It was a hit! I think I will have to make it every thanksgiving for Matt's dad, haha. This was a very special Thanksgiving, because Matt's grandfather(Cindy's dad) has been in an assisted living home for about 9 months, if not longer, because of ALS, a disease that destroys the motor nerves. He has not been able to leave the assisted living home because of this, until recently! He was able to get into the car and join us for Thanksgiving lunch! It was so sweet and a time I will never forget.

After lunch we headed over to Matt's other grandparents home for the cowboys game and to hang out with everyone. It was really fun! And the cowboys won :)


After the game, we took off and headed to Houston to see my family! It was great seeing nonie and Bampa again, and my sister and brother-in-law, and the baby bump! Can't WAIT to see my neice or nephew!

We had a great time together, went and saw The Blindside, excellent movie! One to see again for sure! Then my aunt, uncle and cousin came over for a night of chicken foot! Such a fun game and starting to be a tradition in our family now haha.

We had a great Thanksgiving this year, can't wait to make more memories at Christmas! Hope everyone else had a great time with family and friends too!
