Our FIRST Anniversary!

Whew! We got that year over with! Just Kidding!! Our first year of marriage has been great! Before marriage, I was content with doing absolutely nothing, all day long. When I had a day off from work, I looked forward to a "Holly Day" or also known as a PJ Day. Don't get me wrong, I still love the occasional PJ day, but now when a holiday rolls around, I turn to Matt and ask "where are we going?" I have never ever ever in my short legged life traveled THIS MUCH in one year!!! We've been to Newport Beach, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Houston numerous times, Kansas City...i'm sure i'm leaving some places out, but you get the idea! Since being married, road trips are just a lot more fun! We wanted to take an anniversary trip, but were just too busy and didn't have anymore vacation time left for this fiscal year. But don't worry, we're saving up and will be taking a late anniversary trip sometime in September or October. Place TBD.

We started celebrating our 1 year on Friday, by going to the movies to see Date Night. It was a great movie, and fun to be in a movie theatre again! We hadn't been to the movies in probably 6 months! Then on Saturday we went to Grapevine's 'Main Street Days' event! In all the years that I lived in Grapevine, I never went to this! It was a lot of fun, good food, and we found new places there that we need to check out again! (like Cassie's soft serve ice cream!!)

For our nice anniversary dinner, we wanted to go to Cafe Cipriani's (the same place we went to for my birthday) which was right across the street from the hotel we stayed at on our wedding night! We soon found out the restaurant was closed, so we went to Macaroni Grill instead. Not the same atmosphere, but still good food!

We then got home and dug out the old cake topper, which was frozen solid, and we decided there aint no way we're going to eat that, plus we were so full from dinner that nothing sounded good at the moment. We posed with the cake, let our cat lick off of it, then threw it away. It is so good to have our freezer space back!
