I'm 11 weeks! I know I'm going to look back on this picture one day and laugh. I look so awkward and I feel huge from all the bloating! We had eaten at Cheesecake Factory the night before and I pretty much live on pasta and cheese these days. It's the only thing that sounds good to me.
To recap the last 10 weeks, I've been feeling pretty good! The first few weeks after finding out (weeks 4-5) I felt absolutely normal. I had zero symptoms, minus the over sensitive nose. I smelt EVERYTHING! In fact really strong smells made my nose burn.
Then weeks 6-8 I would get mild nausea in the morning if I didn't eat something right away. Also taking a shower in the mornings almost did me in! I would feel extremely weak and start seeing stars, so I would have to sit down and drink ice cold water to feel better. Once I started taking showers at night, all the light headedness went way, thank goodness!
Weeks 9-10 were really good. The early morning nausea went away completely but I gained a new symptom. I want to eat everything in sight! This is so not good, specially because the food I want is NOT healthy! I have started eating carrots, celery, and raisins as snacks though. I'm trying, I really am! (but man Mac and cheese sounds so good!)
And that brings us to week 11! This week our baby is the size of a lime, about 1.6 inches. Our baby has a 1:1 ratio between body and head and has very transparent skin. The most critical part of our baby's organ system development is now over, and he/she is going to double in size this week! Also the reproductive organs are becoming more distinguished, but still too small for us to see. The fingers and toes are no longer webbed and the hair follicles, tooth buds and nail beds are forming.
A little more about Baby Morrison:
at 6 weeks the heartbeat was 165
at 8 weeks the heartbeat was 176
It was so amazing hearing the heartbeat for the first time! Both Matt and I teared up...it was so surreal and such a miracle!
You look precious!
