Today is like Christmas Eve to me! I cannot WAIT to move out!! I started the countdown about 10 months ago, and the day is finally here!
This apartment has been our home for 15 (long) months. Don't get me wrong, the actual apartment is nice and considered a luxury apartment, but our experience with the management and things breaking on us have been too overwhelming.
Remember back in September when the big Water Main Break of 2010 happened? That was a nightmare!
And then shortly after that our dishwasher broke and maintenance dude said it was our SOAP that caused it, the soap we've been using for 2 years...yeah I laughed at that one.
And then just last week when we started packing, something inside our toilet broke causing water to fill up both the tank and the toilet. This of course had to happen on a Friday night at 10pm. Thankfully maintenance dude came over and fixed it, but in the process of fixing it he broke a pipe, which he didn't have another one to replace it, so he GLUED the thing back together and hasn't returned yet to actually replace the broken pipe.
All that to say, we cannot WAIT to get out of this apartment!!!!
We signed the lease yesterday on our new apartment, but were not able to see our actual unit because they were painting and putting in new carpet. We really wanted to see it before hand, but knowing that it will have fresh paint and new carpet, that makes me feel good.
I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as it's all ready!
I hadn't heard the end to the plumber story or the fact that he GLUED a pipe? I'm so glad you're gonna be outta there soon!
ReplyDeleteI forgot I never told you the outcome of that story! Yes, he glued the broken pipe back together, left the nasty sticky smelly OPEN glue jar on our bathroom counter (right next to my wash cloth) and then said "I wouldn't use the toilet for another 45 minutes or so." Good thing I didn't need to use it!! To be on the safe side, we are turning our water off while we aren't living there next week. If it were to bust again, and we didn't know about it to report it, they would be charging us! I can't wait to hand over those keys next weekend!
