Tummy time and bath time

This week we pulled out the play mat and let Caleb do tummy time. For the past 2 weeks he's been lifting his head in his own while we burp him and he's gotten really good at it, so we thought now would be a good time to start tummy time. He did so good and loved his play mat!

At first he was just comfy laying on the pillow while sucking his paci. Once we took his paci away he started searching for it by lifting and turning his head. We were so proud! Once he got a good little work out we rewarded him with his paci again.

Of course Jade thought the play mat was for her and she got a little playful and wanted to bite the hanging toys and even mess with Caleb. She quickly got put up!

I fought through the pain and got on the floor to play with Caleb too. I didn't want to miss out on his first time trying it out! It was a comedy show when I was trying to get up, ha! Needless to say I was in some pretty good pain that night, but it was worth it!

We gave Caleb his first submerged bath last week, and he hated every second of it! We were working super fast to wash and rinse him to put him out of his misery. Poor little guy!

A few people told us to make the water warmer, so we tried that this week and he LOVED it!!!!! We let him "play" for a little bit since he was loving it so much. Making the water warmer is probably the best advice we've been given so far. I was just wanting to "follow the text books" on what temperature the water should be, but obviously Caleb was NOT having it with the recommended temperature!

He also got to meet his great grandparents and great aunt & uncle last weekend! They loved him and Caleb did so good the whole time. It was funny that Bampa (my grandpa) was so scared to hold him! We eventually got him to hold Caleb, and the picture says it all...they were both uncomfortable! Haha

It's been a great week, I can't believe he will be a month old next week!!!! I seriously feel like I just checked into the hospital! I'm so not liking how fast the time is going by...slow down!!

  1. Yay for loving bath time now! It's weird how that warm water really helps. We were rule followers too, but sometimes breaking the rules is exactly what they need. ;)
