2 months old!

Caleb, you are 2 months old! You have grown so much this month and get cuter everyday (if that's possible)! Your personality is starting to show more and you are the sweetest little boy.

You had your 2 month visit this morning and didn't have a very good time! You weigh 9 pounds 15 ounces (13th percentile) 21.5 in long (6th percentile) and your head is 40 cm (51%). I was very sad to find out you only gained an ounce since Thursday morning, but we think you actually lost even more weight throughout the day of your surgery and on Friday. They didn't weigh you when we were discharged from the hospital, but I am confident that you are gaining weight because you are keeping down all your feedings. I think you kinda enjoyed the oral immunization, but when it came to the 3 shots, you HATED it!

You are still wearing newborn diapers and still some newborn clothes. We pulled out a few 3m PJs to see if they fit, they do, but are still a little big on you. It's exciting to have new wardrobe choices for you now, ha! We had to retire one of my favorite PJs a week ago, the blue one with elephants. Thankfully, we have the same one in size 3m and 6m!

Left: My favorite of his PJ's.
Right: His coming home outfit that he wore only once.

Before your surgery you were eating 3oz every 3-4 hours during the day and one 3.5oz before bedtime and one 3.5oz when you wake up in the morning. We are only giving you 3oz every 3-4 hours now.

You are a great sleeper! You go down around midnight and wake up at 6am. We are wanting to change your bedtime to 10pm or earlier, but we will try that on the weekend when daddy doesn't have work the next day. Saturday night you slept 7 hours! You are also not grunting anymore during the night, probably because your tummy doesn't hurt you anymore.

You love bath time! You only cry when i'm getting you in your birthday suit, and the second I put you in the tub you are the happiest baby on the block! We let you stay in the tub longer than normal the other night (we were skyping with Gami and Poppy) and your little toes were like raisins! We are SO glad that you love taking baths!

You enjoy everything we introduce you to. The other day I introduced you to the Baby Bjorn. You love it! It really helps me out when I need to work or do chores. You also love your bouncer and will sit happily for an hour or longer. We are close to having to replace the batteries for the vibrating/music unit.

We are still taking you to the mall 2-3 times a week. If we walk outside all 3 of us will be sneezy, so in order to still get our family walk in we need to walk at the mall. You used to sleep during the whole walk but you are now staying awake for them! You are so adorable too. Here is a video from our walk the other night.

You crack me up when it comes to burping to you. The second we take the bottle out of your mouth mid-feeding you get this worried look on your face and start panting like a dog until we put your paci in your mouth.

Speaking of your paci, there is one that you love the most. It's the one the hospital first gave you. We've bought more just like it but you want that one! You spit out all the others. It will definitely go in the memory box!

You love to smile at us! It melts my heart when I tell you "I love you" and you smile back! What makes you REALLY smile big is when I say "I love you thiiiiiiiiiiiiis much" and spread my arms out as far as they'll go. You are so cute!

You are still the most content baby i've ever known! The other day you were sitting in your bouncer beside me at my desk just kicking and talking. You stayed that way for an hour and could've kept going if I didn't smell the nastiest poop smell ever. Sweet boy, you were sitting in your own poop for who knows how long and never once fussed to let me know. (BTW that diaper change took no less than 15 minutes and half the wipes box.) You were also all smiles while you were really sick last week. Such a trooper!

We love you more than you will ever know, and we are SO proud of you for how you handled the surgery and hospital stay. You were an easy baby before the surgery, but now you seem even easier. We are looking forward to all the fun times we have ahead. We love you Caleb!
