Matt had to leave at 8:30 and I was still getting ready, so I put Caleb in his bouncy seat and put him right beside me. I was just about done getting ready when I hear him throw up and start gagging. He was moving his arms so much like he was swimming. Poor baby probably felt like he was drowning in his vomit, I would!! It was a lot!
I quickly picked him up and patted his back to get it all up. Once he was ok I put him on his changing table so I could change his outfit. Outfit number 2.
Once I was done putting outfit #2 on him I noticed he had pooped. Great. I'm already running behind and now he has a major poop. As I am cleaning his booty he had the biggest projectile vomit yet!! It went all over me and almost hit the bathtub!! (We have his changing table on the counter in his bathroom.) GREAT! Now he is laying in his vomit and now sitting in his poop! I didn't know where to begin the clean up. So I just stood there wearing vomit and started to cry with him. Once I composed myself I cleaned up his booty, put a new diaper on, took off outfit #2, sponge bathed him, and then put on outfit #3. Then I rushed to my phone to call Matt and told him to call the doctor and tell them we won't make it to the 9:30 appointment. I also told him I need his dad to take us to the appointment because I need to watch for anymore vomit and spit up on the way there.
Matt got the appointment changed to 10:10, I changed into outfit #2 and my father-in-law came over around 9:45. In order to get the 10:10 appointment we had to drop the 2 month check up. We will have the 2 month visit on Monday. I wouldn't have wanted him to have the shots today anyways, he was already feeling so rotten!
My father-in-law holding Caleb before seeing the doctor. |
Just like most sick visits, he didn't show ANY of his symptoms while we were there. He was actually just as happy as ever. He now weighs 10 pounds 1 ounce, not sure if that is good or not but she didn't say otherwise so I will take that as he is ok weight wise. His doctor said he probably has a stomach virus and to give him some pedialyte. I (along with my mom, my in-laws, and Matt) think he is allergic to his soy formula. I read up on formula allergy symptoms and he has every single one of them. We are going to try a different formula to see if that helps anything. I am desperate for him to keep something down! He keeps the pedialyte down well, so maybe we are on the up and up.
I am so glad we are seeing his doctor again soon just incase this keeps up. I can't handle all this vomit! He is running out of clothes and so am I! Do they make baby raincoats?!? If so, i'll buy 50!!!
