SATURDAY
On Saturday we headed to Waco to see my mom's side of the family. We hadn't seen my grandpa since the family reunion, so it was really good seeing him again. I could tell it meant a lot to him that his whole family came to see him for Father's Day. We all met up at Logan's Roadhouse for lunch and then went over to my grandpa and Mickey's condo for dessert and to give him gifts. During the gift opening time, my PawPaw said one the funniest things i've ever heard him say! It went a little something like this: "Let me tell you, the best movie i've seen is this movie called 'The Hangover'. Have you seen it?" Everyone LOST it and he couldn't figure out why! He really did love the movie! Hilarious. We then suggested that he see 'Bridesmaids' haha.
PawPaw has only seen Caleb twice—once at the reunion in April and then this weekend. He didn't get to hold him at the reunion, so he was pretty excited to finally get to hold him! He adores Caleb! When I told PawPaw we were expecting a baby, PawPaw's first response was "I think it's a boy" and I will never forget the way he said that, he had such excitement in his voice. Also, when we first saw Caleb in the 4D ultrasound I immediately said "he looks like PawPaw!" I still think Caleb has his cheeks, and I love it. :)
The WHOLE gang! (Sorry mom, you have two faces!) |

SUNDAY
Today was a "loaded Sunday" in the words of Matt. For those who don't know, today was our last Sunday at Davis Blvd Baptist Church. Matt has been the College and Young Singles minister for the past 2 and a half years, and over the last several months we've felt that God has been moving us away from that position now that Matt has accepted his new job at Grad Resources. This was an extremely hard thing to do, and we love our church family so much. We will definitely continue visiting DBBC whenever we get the chance. As for our next church, we will begin the search process this coming Sunday. For the first time in our marriage, we will be members and not on staff. We are excited about what God has in store for us, but at the same time it is very hard saying goodbye to our DBBC family!
For our last Sunday, our pastor let Matt preach the Father's Day message. Matt used his blogpost, My Boy Can Yawn, as the inspiration. He did an amazing job and made most of us cry! Once the audio is posted on the church website I will post the link if you want to listen to it.
After church we had lunch with Matt's parents and grandparents. We had a great time and it meant so much to Matt that they all came out to hear his message!
