New beginnings

We are so excited about yet another new chapter in our lives.  Last Sunday, August 19, we joined the church we've been visiting for about a month, Preston Ridge Baptist Church. It was a "Very Morrison Sunday" ha! First, Matt's mom brought Caleb up in front of the church during the announcements to recruit more nursery/children's teachers (it worked!) and then at the end of the service Matt and I walked down to join the church. So, technically, Caleb went down before us!

This is the first time in our marriage where we are not on staff at a church, we are just members. It is a really nice feeling! This is also the first church in our marriage that is less than 30-40 minutes away from where we live. We can get to our church in less than 15 minutes, which means we have a lot more time in the morning to get ready (which is kind of a big deal to me, especially with a little baby). It's more than just the distance though, Matt and I are in the same bible study for the first time! It's a great feeling. Also, in about a month or so, Matt is going to tag-team teaching our class. I'm really happy for him that he is still able to teach.

Another new beginning....sitting! Caleb hasn't mastered it by any means, but he sure is trying hard! He can sit on his own, not supported, for a few seconds up to about 10 seconds. We practice every day and he is getting better and better! I'm crossing my fingers that he has it down by 6 months. It takes a lot of hard work to hold up that big head haha.
