We left Saturday morning after his first bottle and made it to Houston around 2:30pm. He did great during the trip! Once we got to their house we all played with him and then that evening he got to get in the pool for the very first time. We didn't buy a swim suit or the swimming diapers because he would never use them again....so he went naked!
He was very confused at first, then seemed to kind of like it, and then flat out hated it! He screamed and screamed! I felt so bad for him! He had the biggest crocodile tears i've ever seen come from him. It brought me back to the early days when he hated bath time because the water wasn't warm enough. He's just going to be like his daddy I think and love the hot tub more than the pool. Ha!
On Sunday we went to my parent's church, Houston's First Baptist. I was more nervous this time about putting him in the nursery, just because we don't know them and they don't know his history. We only went to the service, not Sunday School so that he would only be there for an hour. We enjoyed a wonderful service but I was itching to get back to the nursery to pick up Caleb! Once we got there they told us he had a blowout and got his shorts dirty, but other than that he was great. We gathered up all of his stuff and made our way over to the shuttle line to take us to our car. That's when Matt discovered little bits of poop on Caleb's forehead....eyelid....hands...feet...legs...poop was practically all over him! We rushed to the car and quickly got him cleaned up and changed. We worried all through lunch that he might have got some in his mouth, but worrying gets you nowhere so we just hoped and prayed that he didn't. So, it wasn't the best nursery stay ever, but accidents happen.
On Monday we drove out to the coast so Caleb could see the beach for the first time. We went to Surf Side Beach, where everyone and their dogs and cats were! It was super hot, super windy, and had more germs than this germ-o-phobic mom wants to know about. We didn't stay long, but we got some cute pictures in the 30 minutes or so that we were there!
