Part of the reason for multiple fall festivals is to get our money's worth out of his costume! I'm not a fan of buying something for a one time use. We also love to see his little face light up at everything going on around him, it's adorable!
The first Fall Festival we went to was on Saturday night at our church. It was a very chilly evening and I was so thankful for his warm pillow costume! He was a little heater under the costume, but his poor little hands and face were not-so-warm. He was a great sport though and enjoyed his first fall festival experience!
We invited my sister, brother in law and niece to come with us and i'm so glad they were able to make it! Kaley (my niece) had been sick most of the week but thankfully she got all better and they were able to come. She was SO cute in her Minnie Mouse costume! I love love love seeing her and Caleb together. We tried our hardest to get a good picture of them together and smiling, but that didn't work out so well haha! This is the best we could do. My sister says we have to make them recreate these poses when they are teenagers, I agree!
Last night Matt's mom invited us to go to another church's Fall Festival with her so she could get ideas for next year's Fall Festival at our church. She is the children's minister at our church and in charge of putting on the event. Of course we said yes so we could dress Caleb up again!
On the way over to the Fall Festival Caleb had a huge blow out and his pants for his costume could not be salvaged. We were in need of a changing station BADLY so we went to the mall that was near the church we were headed to. The mall was closing in 10 minutes, and for some dumb reason they locked all the bathroom doors except for the 1 little family restroom. There was a line of about 4 babies needing to be changed. So there we stood with the only stinky baby of the bunch and I am freaking out that he has ZERO clean pants to change into. Frantically digging through his diaper bag I found a pair of pajamas from Thursday when he went over to Mimi and Pappy's house. I was so angry. I am that mom who always tries to dress Caleb nice whenever we are out and about (yes I know I am crazy) and I hated the fact that he was going to be wearing pajamas under his costume! And to top it off they didn't match in color. I now laugh about it all, and he was the cutest monkey in pajamas that night.
I think it's hilarious that the look on his face screams "mom. why did you do this to me?" I know, sweetie, I will be prepared next time with many many pants!

He could've been one of the 5 monkeys that jumped off the bed!
