OBU Homecoming

This is going to be a very photo heavy post! You've been warned :)

Friday

On Friday we packed the car to it's capacity and headed up north to Arkadephia, Arkansas, where we attended college. Matt and I met there, so it was very surreal to bring our son and show him all the places where we spent so much of our time.

This was Caleb's first time going out of state, so we made kind of a big deal out of it and took pictures in front of the Arkansas welcome center. Caleb welcomed the state of Arkansas with a big poop, literally as we crossed over the state line. Thankfully, their new rest stop/welcome center has a wonderful family restroom with a nice baby changing station (those are so hard to come by, as we learned this weekend).

Saturday

Saturday was the big eventful day of the weekend. In the morning was "Octigerfest" which was called the Homecoming Tea back in my days there. It is now a big event with bounce houses for the kids, booths for all the clubs on campus and all the schools as well. It was so nice seeing our old friends and meeting the new members of my social club, Tri Chi.

A cold front came through during the night and it was COLD! Sweet Caleb has never experienced cold weather before, so he was very cold, but was a good sport. He whimpered a few times, but really, who didn't whimper a little that day?! It was freezing (in my book)!

Tri Chi's all circled up singing the wedding song.

Getting ready for Tiger Tunes!
We normally always go to the football game in the middle of the day, but Caleb had enough of the cold (and so did I) so we all went back to the hotel and napped. That night is the biggest event of homecoming: Tiger Tunes! Oooooh good ole Tiger Tunes! I've been going to all these shows since 2000, missing only 2 or 3 times. I'm a little obsessed I guess you could say :)

We took Caleb to the show with us. I was a little nervous at first, but he did a-m-a-z-i-n-g during the entire 3 hour sho w! For the first 30 minutes or so he was mesmerized by the music, dancing, lights and singing. At one point during the show, one of the clubs came out in the isles and at the end screamed real loud which made him jump big time, but after that his head fell slowly back on Matt's chest and he was out until intermission. He then slept for the rest of the show.

Watching some of the late night Tunes show on the live stream before going to bed.

Sunday

Sunday was our traveling day back home, but before we hit the road, we went back to campus and walked around. We showed Caleb all of the places that meant a lot to us. Again, it was so surreal walking around campus with our little boy! We pray he chooses to go to Ouachita in the future, it really is such a special school.
