December 1 marks the anniversary of our first date and this past Saturday was the 6th anniversary! Caleb stayed with Mimi and Pappy while we went to studio movie grill to see Lincoln. Well that was the plan at least. When we got there they said the movie was sold out. Bummer. Plan B was to go to Cheesecake Factory and then walk around the new deck park in downtown Dallas.
We surprisingly only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table and took our sweet time eating and talking. I bet we were there for close to 2 hours! It was nice just being the 2 of us and not constantly saying "No Caleb, don't eat the table!" We missed him terribly and talked about him a lot, but it's so good to be just the 2 of us again with no responsibilities. Good medicine for our marriage!
Once our waitress was tired of filling our glasses, we headed downtown to the new Klyde Warren Park. It was amazing! They had the coolest kid park i've ever seen, a dog park, permanent built in ping pong tables, a reading area for kids and newspaper stand for the adults, and lots of food trucks! And to think all of this is on top of the Woodall Rodgers freeway...crazy!

Sunday night was our night to see our church's Christmas Program,
An Americana Christmas. Our church has some serious talent! Chris Machen is our music minister and wrote this musical. Chris and his wife Diane are extremely blessed in the vocal department and have multiple albums out on iTunes. I believe their music was played on the radio back when they first began making music.
Babe's chicken was catered before the show started, so you know we ate good! They provided childcare, but we kept Caleb with us since he loves music. BOY does this child love music! So much that he wanted to sing along and squeal most of the time. Matt hung out with him in the lobby, taking turns with Mimi and Pappy. Silly boy was completely silent in the lobby though. Oh well.
At one point in the show Santa comes out to give the children toys. Of course Santa had to be in the lobby before going out on stage, where Caleb was, and I was told that Caleb would NOT take his eyes off Santa! ha!
My favorite part of the whole night was when Matt brought Caleb back inside and Caleb reached out for my hand and we held hands while watching the program. Talk about a melting heart. I love this boy so much it hurts.
