They're Engaged!

My brother-in-law, Mark, proposed to his sweet girlfriend last night and she said "It's so shiny!" which means "YES!" in Katie language, ha! I could not be more excited about these two getting married. We've been calling her Aunt Katie for a few months and now she will officially be his aunt, come this summer!

Katie went to OBU with us and she was also a bridesmaid in our wedding. I didn't know her as well back then, but she was very close friends with Matt and Mark and I kind of had a feeling back then that she will eventually be in the family and wanted her to be part of our big day. I love that she was in our wedding! It will be very cool showing our kids, and eventually their kids, our wedding album one day and they will recognize a familiar face.

After the proposal, Mark had planned a big surprise dinner for Katie. We all met at Maggiano's in Dallas. I think there were around 20 people at the dinner. Lots of friends from OBU (some of which I haven't seen since I graduated in 2007!) and family from both sides. It was a really fun evening, even though we had a very whiney, TIRED baby boy on our hands. Matt and I felt pretty bad that everyone had to meet Caleb at his worst, but they all thought the opposite, which made us feel better. We can't wait to see him all dressed up in a baby tux for the wedding. My momma heart might explode from all the cuteness!
