We've been waiting for a day that's cold enough to take Caleb to see Santa for the first time. The outfit we picked out for him is definitely for a cold winter day and we didn't want to torture him by making him wear it on a warm Texas winter day.
Monday in Dallas was COLD! I believe the high was 44 degrees?? I had a women's ministry event that night, so we decided to go Tuesday night instead. We invited my sister, her husband and their daughter Kaley to come with us. Caleb and Kaley are precious cousins and love each other! They both had fun waiting in the long line together.

The HUGE Raggedy Ann doll kind of freaked all of us out... |

Our "We're about to see Santa!!" faces! I was way more excited than him. |
After a 40 minute wait (I think it was that long) we finally got to see Santa! Caleb was all smiles and in such a good mood the entire wait, so we had NO worries that he would be perfectly fine on Santa's lap. Well, we were right and wrong. Here's how it played out...

Santa first read him a book, which he LOVED! (Notice the Elf on the Shelf doll on the chair??) |

Santa put the book down, Caleb took one look at Santa and... |

Wanted NOTHING to do with him! |

I felt so bad for him! Caleb never meets a stranger but did NOT like being on his lap. |
We did end up buying a picture for the sake of the memory of his first time meeting Santa. We had three choices: him and Santa looking at each other, Santa reading the book to him, or him screaming his head off. We chose:
There was a sign saying once inside the Santa area no photos are allowed from phones and personal cameras, but I played like I didn't know and took pictures on my phone anyways. No one caught me and I am so glad I took the pictures, because we ended up getting all 3 poses after all!
I don't regret going, I think most of the pictures are precious and ones to cherish for every Christmas here on out! :)
