First of all, thank you everyone for your sweet comments, emails and text messages! We are so blessed to have you in our lives and praying for our sweet baby. We appreciate every note we've received.
26 weeks! We are 2 weeks away from being in the THIRD trimester!! I can't believe it. I am feeling great, just having the normal aches and pains that come with being pregnant. Sometimes I forget I have this belly in front of me, it's funny. I still kind of feel like I have my normal stomach under the belly, but when I brush my teeth, or clean the dishes, I am reminded that I indeed have a big belly because it hits the counter tops. :)
His eyes are forming this week and will soon start to open (we actually got to see him open his eyes during the ultrasound!), he also has eyelashes now (which we saw too)! He's getting his immune system ready for life outside the womb by soaking up my antibodies. He is also breathing in small amounts of amniotic fluid to practice taking breaths (which we also witnessed!).
Size of baby: an English hothouse cucumber (googled it...it looks huge!) (still growing in the 13.6 to 14.8 inch and 1.5 to 2.5 pound range)
Total weight gain: around 15 pounds
Maternity Clothes: All the time for the pants, off and on with the maternity tops.
Boy or Girl? It's a BOY!!!!!! Caleb James
Movement: All the time and still loving it! I can tell the kicks are getting stronger, but they don't hurt at all. During the ultrasound he had the hiccups for about 30 minutes, poor guy. But strangely, I didn't feel them.
Sleep: Pretty good these days actually. I get up at 4am, on the dot, to pee but can quickly fall back asleep.
Anything you miss? bending over and getting off the couch easily. I am having to prop myself up with a pillow (we have a deep couch). I just bought this bad boy and can't wait for it to arrive on Monday! Watching TV on the couch and in bed will once again be enjoyable :)
Cravings? None, zip, nada. I can eat like a horse though! It just takes me a while to figure out what I want to eat though.
Symptoms: Back pain is the biggy right now and I can tell my feet are a teeny tiny bit swollen, but not much.
Any fears? Not this week! Praise the Lord!
Best moment of the week: So many things to be thankful for!! Hearing the CPC's are completely gone and he is a healthy baby boy!! Seeing him in a 4D ultrasound for close to an hour with the sonographer and we have his crib and mattress now!! I'd say it's been a pretty good week!
