Happy New Year's Eve!
We're in the 30's now!! I remember being so excited about entering the 20's because I felt like I was out of the "newlywed" stage. Now I feel like i'm in the "experienced" stage (ha! Like I really know what i'm doing here...yeah right). We're in the home stretch, 10 weeks away....2 months away, either way you say it, it sounds SOON! Because it IS soon!! This month is definitely going to be centered around Caleb more than ever. We have almost every weekend booked up with childbirth classes and our first shower!! We are so excited, it's really here!
His nursery is coming along nicely, he still has no bedding, but we're having our first shower soon and we have a hunch that we will get the bedding there! I am still busy crafting away on his wall art and having so much fun with it! I'm currently working on the artwork that will go above his crib.
Caleb has a pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounding him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very good; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision, which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face.
Size of baby: a head of cabbage (around 3 pounds and 15.7 inches)
Total weight gain: around 20 pounds.... I am terrified to step on the scale this week after all this eating i've done during Christmas! I'm fully expecting to get the lecture from my doctor again lol.
Maternity Clothes: All the time for the pants, off and on with the maternity tops (I am shocked I can still wear t-shirts from college! Knock-on-wood. Never thought i'd have a baby belly under a Tri Chi shirt!)
Boy or Girl? It's a BOY!!!!!! Caleb James
Movement: He is still rolling around like crazy! I can't describe the feeling, but it is WEIRD! Some times he rolls so hard (or stretches out so far) that I feel like I am being pushed forward (the feeling when you get off the treadmill). Especially if I am walking while he's doing it! It takes my breath away a lot of the time, and I am constantly rubbing my belly to try to calm him down.
Sleep: Sleep is still really good, surprisingly. The only thing I can complain about is how HARD it is to get out of bed (while wrestling with the body pillow) to go to the bathroom. I wake Matt and the cat up every single time with my grunts. Kind of wishing we didn't have such a tall bed now!
Anything you miss? Bending over, getting off the couch (or any chair for that matter) without having help, eating chocolate without feeling bad about it, sleeping on my stomach and back.
Cravings? meat. meat. meat! A big burger sounds SO good right now! Pasta is also creeping back into my "gotta have it" list, ruh-roh!
Symptoms: still a little bit of nausea and super tired.
Any fears? Got a little freaked out this week knowing he is coming SOON and I feel so unprepared. I'm starting to hear the horror stories from other moms about their birth experience, which I don't appreciate AT ALL, and they are making it worse. I'm really trying to tune them out.
Best moment of the week: Cleaning out closets, throwing stuff away to make room for baby toys and clothes!

I love reading your updates! They keep me informed and I feel like I see you more than I really do :)
