27 weeks

This is officially my last week in the 2nd Trimester! This has been such a smooth sailing pregnancy, and I hope it continues into the last and final trimester...we'll see!

It's been a really good week! My back pain is not near as bad anymore and I've had a lot of energy. I've also been able to bend over more easily for some reason and just in general move around quickly. I feel like my old self again honestly! I'm enjoying this feeling while it lasts because I know I can't be this lucky haha.

At my appointment this week I was told I am on track for weight gain, but getting a little close to going over the recommended weight gain. So I was told to eat more protein and less carbs. That is like telling me to stop breathing. I love my pasta and chocolate, so it was a pretty big blow to me. After the appointment I went straight to Sprouts and bought tons of fruit and vegetables! I am having to force the fruit down....all I want are buttery rolls. One positive note, she said I look great and doesn't know where I am storing the extra weight. Well I know where it is, but that was sweet of her to say haha.

I am also officially having my every-two-week appointments now! Now the time is REALLY going to fly by. I am excited and nervous all at the same time.

Funny story that happened this weekend. Strangers are starting to ask when I am due which is exciting but can also not be a fun thing. I was in a restroom that had 2 stalls. An old lady took the regular stall, which left the handicap stall. Someone was in that one so I waited. As I waited, the old woman (who had just asked me when I was due) says to me from the regular stall, "oh honey, you're going to want the handicap stall, you won't fit in this one!" wow, thanks! I personally don't think I'm that big, but whatever! Haha

Caleb is sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and might even be sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, his brain is very active now. His lungs are still immature, but if he were to be born now—with lots of medical help—he would most likely survive.

Size of baby: a head of cauliflower (2 pounds and 14.5 inches)

Total weight gain: around 20 pounds

Maternity Clothes: All the time for the pants, off and on with the maternity tops.

Boy or Girl? It's a BOY!!!!!! Caleb James

Movement: All the time! This week I started really seeing him move and roll over, what most people call the "alien stage".

Sleep: Still sleeping really good, and very thankful for it!

Anything you miss? This has been a pretty good week....so I guess what I really miss is zipping up my jeans. I still love the comfort of maternity jeans, but it will be nice to zip them again :)

Cravings? None, zip, nada. But after my doctor said to eat more protein and less carbs.....now I am craving rolls rolls ROLLS!!!

Symptoms: peeing constantly!

Any fears? Not to many, but I am still nervous about L&D!

Best moment of the week: Getting his crib and glider set up!! His nursery is slowly but surely coming together!
