33 weeks - 7 weeks left!

This single digit countdown is going WAY faster than I could have ever imagined! Maybe it's because I feel like we still have so much left to do before he comes. We need to wash all his clothes, sheets, attend all sorts of childbirth classes, organize his closet, get the "diaper station" ready, pack the hospital bag, cook meals that can freeze....etc. It is a little overwhelming. I just hope he doesn't decide to come early, we need every bit of these last 7 weeks!

This has been one involved week! I developed this awful cough last week and it was not letting up. It just continued to get worse. Monday night it got so bad that I couldn't breathe or catch a breath between the coughs. Matt called me a squeaky toy because I was wheezing so bad! Matt said I needed to see a doctor ASAP, so he called the nearest Care Now and got me in. Turns out I had bronchitis with asthma. I've never had either before, and I was miserable! The doctor said that since i'm pregnant, there are very limited drugs they could give me. After much research, he came back with a prescription but told me to clear it with my OB doctor to be safe. By this time it was close to 9pm and I was still miserable, so Matt called the "i'm in labor" line for my doctor. I hated he had to do that, but my doctor was very nice and called us back right away giving us the thumbs up to take the meds! I now have an inhaler and antibiotics. I can't stand taking them, but my doctor has reassured me over and over it is safe and won't hurt Caleb. She also said it would be worse if I can't breathe, because Caleb wouldn't be getting the oxygen he needs.

On Thursday I had my normal 2 week visit with my doctor, and it went great! His heart beat was in the 140's and he even kicked the doctor! Oops! I learned an interesting tid-bit that day. She said my belly is measuring right on target at 33cm and I am 33 weeks. (She's never told me the actual number before.) So each week it should measure how far a long I am. Cool huh? I thought it was haha. She said he should weigh in the 7 pound range at birth, just like the specialist told us at 26 weeks.

Caleb is quickly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his bones are hardening. He's keeping his eyes open while he's awake. He's also starting to coordinate breathing with sucking and swallowing. And he's going through (more) major brain development.

Size of baby: a pineapple (a little over 4 pounds and over 17 inches long! He may even grow up to another inch this week, holy moly!)

Total weight gain: I'm not liking this question anymore haha, but around 25 pounds. I think I lost 2 pounds this time, which kinda worries me, but with me being sick for close to 2 weeks now I bet that's why.

Maternity Clothes: All the time for work clothes, but i'm still able to wear my normal PJ's

Boy or Girl? It's a BOY!!!!!! Caleb James

Movement: yes, all the time!

Sleep: Sleep has been rough this week because I keep coughing the entire night.

Anything you miss? Bending over, getting off the couch easily, eating chocolate without feeling bad about it, sleeping on my stomach and back.

Cravings? mac & cheese, french fries, and hamburgers. I wouldn't really say i'm craving them, they just sound really good to me.

Symptoms: little bit of nausea, back pain and this weird tingling above my stomach.

Any fears? wondering if we will have everything ready before he comes! But can any new parent really be fully ready to bring home a new baby? :)

Best moment of the week: The shower my office threw for Caleb! So much fun! Also my husband's birthday!
