The year started off pretty rough for us. Matt was on his way home from seminary when he was involved in a 5 car accident on the highway. It doesn't look like much in the picture, but the accident caused over $10k in damage! Thankfully Matt was ok and the car was restored back to new condition.
A few weeks later we celebrated Matt's 24th birthday with his family, which helped take our minds off the accident.
—February—
Ice and snow welcomed us into February this year! We had so much ice and snow that both Matt and I were stuck inside for an entire week! It was nice to have the break, but we got cabin fever pretty quickly.
Matt started his second job this month, at Artistry Marketing, a marketing firm in downtown Dallas. This was an answer to prayer and we are so thankful for this job. It has allowed us to pay for seminary and even continue saving money at the same time.
—March—
March was pretty low key for us, but my awesome in-laws gave me an early(early!) birthday present...an iPad 2! I was so shocked and thankful for this amazing gift.
—April—
On April 20th, Matt's grandfather passed away from his battle with ALS. It was a very tough time for all of us, especially with it being so close to Easter and my MIL's birthday. Granddad was an amazing man and loved the Lord with all his heart. We miss him dearly, but know that we will be reunited with him someday in Heaven!
—May—
In May we celebrated my niece, Kaley's, first birthday! She had so much fun at her first birthday party, which she was surrounded by family and friends.
We also celebrated my 27th birthday with my parents at Cheesecake factory, a favorite of mine!
—June—
We moved!!! We were SO excited to leave the horrible apartment [experience] we had in Irving! We are still loving everything about our new apartment and wouldn't change a thing.
—July—
The biggest news and surprise to us! I will never forget the morning of July 4th when I saw those 2 lines. The excitement, the fear, the unknowns. I was a jumbled up mess, but we were both so excited more than anything!
—August—
Not too much happened in August. The main thing is that we announced to all of our friends, family and to Facebook that we are going to have a baby! It was such a thrilling time and my heart hasn't beat that fast since our wedding day, ha!
—September—
Another low key month for us....mostly consisted of baby stuff! One highlight from this month was that I felt our baby kick for the first time! I'd say that is pretty noteworthy! :)
—October—
We found out our baby is a BOY!!! One of the most exciting moments and terrifying moments all at the same time. This was when we found out Caleb had CPC's (cysts) on his brain which caused concern for down syndrome. Praise the Lord they are totally gone!!
—November—
We spent Thanksgiving with my family this year in Houston and had a wonderful time! Food tastes extra yummy when you're pregnant my friends! mmm!!!
—December—
My favorite part of December was when we were able to see Caleb on a 4D ultrasound. Technology amazes me and the fact that we got to see what he actually looks like just blows my mind!
We celebrated Christmas at home this year with Matt's family. It was a pretty special time knowing this is our last Christmas as just the two of us, but we couldn't be more excited about sharing it with Caleb in the future!
----------------------
From the rough and tough moments, to being absolutely amazed by God's miracles, we loved 2011 and can't wait to see what God has in store for us in 2012!
It was a wonderful year, indeed! 2012 will be so exciting with Caleb in the pictures! Love you! ~Mom
