1 month old!

Caleb,
You are a whole month old today! I can hardly believe it. I feel like we were just leaving the hospital yesterday. You have grown so much this month and everyday is so much fun with you!

You are still wearing newborn diapers and newborn clothes. You hardly fit into them at the beginning, but they fit you like a glove now. You weigh 8 lbs 11 oz, which puts you in the 23rd percentile. The reason we know this is because we had to make an emergency trip to your doctor this week. We noticed a tiny bit of blood in your poop, so we took you to the doctor right away. It turns out that you are taking after your mommy and uncle Mark—you have a milk allergy and we had to switch you to soy formula. We are hoping this is just a phase and you can enjoy ice cream later on in life!
You are drinking 2.5 to 3 ounces every 3-4 hours with an occasional 5 hour stretch during the night. But those don't happen that often!
You can lift your head all by yourself and keep it up for almost a minute! We are so proud of you!

You sometimes like to help us out and hold the bottle all on your own!

You love your paci, but only when you are getting tired or hungry. You sleep fine without it and actually spit it out of your mouth when you fall asleep.
You are rolling onto your side during playtime and sometimes when you sleep.
You love the miracle blanket, and so does your mom and dad! You sleep so much better when you are swaddled in that blanket.
You love tummy time and are doing so well with your little exercises.
You are "talking" so much and it's so cute! The other morning I woke up to you cooing, which sounded a lot like Jade when she meows at our bedroom door.
You love your soothing sounds giraffe stuffed animal! We are starting to wonder if this will be your "kitty" or "bear" doll.

We have been taking you to the mall in the evenings to get out and walk, and you sleep the whole time. You love movement, whether it's riding in the car or in your stroller. You fall asleep every time!

You are so sweet, laid back, and chill. We can't wait to see you continue to grow and learn new things. We love you so much Caleb!
