We planned this whole trip out to a T on Friday night. Caleb is now waking up only once during the night around 4am, so we would feed him at 4 and then again at 7am, then be on the road at 8am. This would put us arriving at the reunion around 10:30 which would be right in time for his next feeding. Well we all know plans never go the way we want them to, and this plan wasn't any different. Caleb decided he was hungry at 3am, so Matt fed him and at 6am when I was supposed to shower and get ready Caleb had other plans and wanted to eat. I took the quickest shower ever and then just held him to calm him down and try to take his mind off of milk so we could stay on schedule. I put him down around 6:30 so I could finish getting ready. Matt got up and held him until 7am. I then took Caleb to feed him and so Matt could get ready. It all worked out and we were on the road at 7:57!
Caleb did great and didn't cry at all and slept most of the time. We had no traffic or setbacks and we arrived right at 10:30 with a hungry baby! I am so happy that our plan ended up working and we had a happy baby the entire day! He slept in our arms almost the entire day with a few hours in the pack-n-play. I was really worried that since he slept all day (he is usually alert most of the day at home) that he wouldn't sleep well that night. I was very wrong! He slept almost 6 hours straight and then slept another 5 hours! Woohoo!
Here are a few pictures from the day. I had all intentions to take a ton of pictures, but I hardly took any because I was either holding Caleb or in a daze from being so tired, ha!
