Today we had our 12 week appointment! Still blows my mind, I feel like we were just at the 6 week appointment. Today's visit was really good! We ended up not having an ultrasound because I declined to have the test which determines down syndrome. It wouldn't matter either way to us, we would still love this child, and also our insurance wouldn't cover it.
At this visit I asked a few questions regarding my migraines, and she reassured me that everything is normal. She did say if they got worse then I might need to see a neurologist, which freaks me out! I really hope they are just happening because of the heat and a little dehydration. I'm drinking water like a crazy woman now.
My doctor was very impressed I've only thrown up twice so far! My second time to "hug the toilet" was today at work. Most of the time when I run to the bathroom at work I just end up dry heaving, but not this time. Ugh.
After we got all the questions out of the way we got to hear the heartbeat! I told her I wanted to record the sound with my phone and she said "let me find it first.." and I swear it took 5 minutes to find the heartbeat. I think MY heart stopped for a minute. I was so nervous and scared. Then all the sudden there was that sweet sound! Here is a video of the heartbeat audio! The picture is from my 8 week ultrasound. I couldn't figure out how to get the audio from my phone to post on here, so I did a cheap little fix haha.
After we heard the heartbeat our doctor broke the news to us that she was switching practices. My heart sank! I love my doctor and I did NOT want to switch at this point in my pregnancy. But then she said she is moving to Baylor Frisco which is 10 minutes from where we live! (We are currently driving way out of our way to see her.) We immediately said we will do the switch with her! We are thrilled that we are going to have a Baylor baby, and in the nicest hospital I've ever seen!
If that news wasn't good enough, it got even better! She said we will find out the gender of our sweet little one at the next appointment! So get your votes in (the poll is on the top right) because in 5 short weeks we will know if it's pink or blue! We can't WAIT for October 6th!
We will have a gender reveal party the following weekend, so that's when I will post the exciting news, and tons of pictures!
pink, pink, PINK!! That's how I voted :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't that sound the most reassuring sound ever? I'm 26 weeks and still, even feeling her move, love to hear that thump- thump sound! And pink or blue- both are amazing! God blessed us with one of each, but the excitement at the reveal is just as sweet! Congrats!!!
