My Christmas Surprise Reveal

Matt has been talking about this big Christmas surprise he has been planning for me for a few weeks now. He's never been the best about surprises (as in he always ends up giving me hints that I can figure out haha) but he wasn't saying ANYTHING about this surprise. The only thing he said was "this is a completely original idea, one that even beats Pinterest!" haha! He said he was going to reveal the surprise before church on Sunday, November 18th.

Ever since Caleb got sick on Thursday, Matt has been worried about this big surprise that he's been planning. I hated seeing him so sad. He kept saying "I can get all my money back.....but I was really looking forward to this weekend." Thankfully, Caleb is doing MUCH better and it looks like everything can go on as planned!

This morning when I was trying to get Caleb down for a nap, Matt walked in and said "close your eyes and keep them closed. I'm going to reveal your surprise!" I guess he couldn't hold it in any longer and wanted to tell me a day early. I wasn't complaining! When he told me to open my eyes this is what I saw:

He immediately said "I ordered a tree with white lights, but they sent me this instead. I hope you like it anyways." haha! He knows me too well. I can't stand multi-colored Christmas lights, but I absolutely love this little tree! My reaction was "whaaaat? Is that all for me?" There were 4 gifts under that cute little tree! He said this is the kick off of the Morrison family Christmas. If you know me even a little bit, you know that I LOVE Christmas and would have a tree in every room if I could. This little tree is the start of a new tradition in our family now that we are a party of three. It will be the first tree we set up and decorate to kick off the big Christmas tree decorating in our home. I say home because this time next year we will be in our first home and will actually have a place for this little tree (right now it is in Caleb's room because we don't have a place for it in the apartment.)

Now onto the surprise! In gift #1 was...

This little ornament with a drawing of a Christmas tree. I looked up confused and he said on Sunday night is the Christmas Tree lighting at Legacy Town Center, a place we go to every year but never got to see the lighting of the big tree. I was so excited! He then added that Santa will be there walking around taking pictures with the kids. So this will be Caleb's first time seeing Santa! Yes, I already have his outfit picked out and yes he will be the cutest one there!

It gets better...

In gift #2 was......

Another ornament with this drawing of an M inside a circle. Again, I was confused. He asked me what logo that is similar to. I laughed and said "Maggiano's?" because I am always thinking about food I guess, ha! He said "...or Marriott..?" I gave a blank stare and he explained to me that he has reserved a room for us at the Marriott that is across from the big Christmas tree at Legacy Town Center and requested for a tree view! Oh my word, I was SO EXCITED and then realized there are still 2 more gifts!

In gift #3 was....

An ornament with this weird little drawing. I thought it was a question mark with an 'e'. So I said "questioney" of course. He said "...or....hooky?" Duh. It was a hook, don't you see it? ;) He then explained that he had called my boss and asked for me to have Monday off!! I cannot believe my boss was in on this surprise! Matt also said that since I now have Monday off we will be putting up our Christmas tree and decorating the apartment for Christmas! This is HUGE for Matt to do because he hates to put up the tree before Thanksgiving.

Then in the last gift was...

An ornament with this picture of a girl. Ha, just kidding. It was an empty ornament, along with 4 more empty ornaments to fill with pictures from the weekend! I am so so SO excited about tomorrow and Monday! I am also so proud of my husband for keeping all of this a secret and for having such a creative mind. I'm very very blessed to have Matt and a mini version of him. God did so good!

I will be posting pics from this weekend in a later post. Hope y'all have a good weekend too!
